About Ontario Well Water

Who We Are

Ontario Well Water is an educational resource founded by an Ontario resident who grew up in a rural household supplied exclusively by well water. We know firsthand the frustration of sulphur showers, orange rust staining on appliances, chalky hard-water scum, and the confusing, often aggressive sales pitches made by franchise filtration companies.

Our objective is simple: provide clear, plain-spoken, science-backed guidance on well water conditions across rural Ontario, and connect homeowners with reputable, independent local water treatment professionals who know the area's aquifers.

What We Do (And What We Don't Do)

We act strictly as an educational platform and referral service:

• What We Do: We publish township-level geological guides, explain water symptoms without fear tactics or sales pressure, and route interested homeowners to vetted independent dealers for free in-home screening.
• What We Never Do: We do not test water, inspect wells, install equipment, or collect payments from homeowners. We do not sell proprietary equipment or mark up contractor invoices.

Our Dealer Partner Standards

Water treatment has an unfortunate reputation for high-pressure door-to-door sales and exaggerated health scares. We refuse to work with high-pressure national sales chains.

Instead, we partner with established independent local dealers who:

• Possess deep local knowledge of regional groundwater formations and historical well depths.
• Offer transparent, itemized quotes without locking homeowners into predatory financing or rental contracts.
• Conduct free, non-binding in-home chemistry screenings to properly size equipment before proposing solutions.

Public Health & Biological Safety

We strongly believe in supporting Ontario's public health infrastructure. For bacterial contamination questions (E. coli, coliforms), we always direct homeowners to Ontario’s free provincial bacterial testing program run by Public Health Ontario.
